SCNM Sage Foundation provides funding to six community clinics throughout Maricopa County which are staffed with licensed faculty physicians and third- and fourth-year medical students from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences (SCNM). Patients include children in impoverished school districts, domestic violence survivors, women and children recovering from homelessness and trauma, individuals coping with HIV/AIDS and patients recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Student physicians treat chronic and acute health conditions by working with the patients to restore health and improve self-care choices through daily diet, exercise, and stress reduction treatment plans. These shifts give students a unique opportunity to provide treatment and gain skills and experience in a community healthcare setting and enhance their cultural competence working with a diverse patient population. Treatments often include clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy, and prescription medicines when necessary. Thanks to generous community support, services and treatments are provided to patients at little to no cost.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have had to adjust some of the services we provide to our patients. SCNM Sage Foundation works with other clinics and organizations to host some of our clinics. Due to circumstances outside of our control, some of our partner organizations are either not open or are offering very modified services. Currently, Roosevelt Health Center, Sojourner Center, and Changing Lives Center are open. Patients from our other clinics have either been referred to Roosevelt Health Center or similar clinics in the area.
Because of this, Roosevelt has seen a significant increase in patients. Your donation goes to helping patients establish care at Roosevelt, keeping the clinics clean, helping us re-open our other clinics once our partner sites are open, and helps us to expand to new sites in the future.
