Give the gift of healthcare this year! Donate to SCNM Sage Foundation in honor of a friend or loved one and choose from one of our four holiday e-cards. We will personalize the card and include your name before sending it to their email. They’ll love knowing that you’re both providing healthcare to thousands of patients in Maricopa County! You will see an option to select a card on the donation page under “Additional Details.” Please contact us if you have any questions.
SCNM Sage Foundation provides funding to six community clinics throughout Maricopa County which are staffed with licensed faculty physicians and third- and fourth-year medical students from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences (SCNM). Patients include children in impoverished school districts, domestic violence survivors, women and children recovering from homelessness and trauma, individuals coping with HIV/AIDS and patients recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Student physicians treat chronic and acute health conditions by working with the patients to restore health and improve self-care choices through daily diet, exercise, and stress reduction treatment plans. These shifts give students a unique opportunity to provide treatment and gain skills and experience in a community healthcare setting and enhance their cultural competence working with a diverse patient population. Treatments often include clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy, and prescription medicines when necessary. Thanks to generous community support, services and treatments are provided to patients at little to no cost.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have had to adjust some of the services we provide to our patients. Due to circumstances outside of our control, many of our clinics and partner organizations are either not open or are offering very modified services. Currently, Roosevelt Health Center is open and seeing all Roosevelt and Sojourner Center patients. Patients from our other clinics have either been referred to Roosevelt Health Center or other similar clinics in the area.
Your donation provides the services and supplies needed to run these clinics. Gifts to SCNM Sage Foundation qualify for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit which means you could lessen the amount you owe or increase the amount of your return from the State! Individuals can give up to $400 and couples filing jointly can give up to $800 and receive it all back!
